Where I ⁣
⬅️ Did endless amounts of cardio and HIIT⁣⁣
⬅️ Ate as little as possible to achieve abs ⁣⁣
⬅️ Allowed my body image to dictate my self worth
⬅️ Was constantly low in energy and lacked confidence. ⁣⁣
⬅️ Had a poor mindset.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
As I reflect back over the years of my journey, I’ve faced many challenges and hardship, failed, made many mistakes and poor choices. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Nevertheless grateful for them all because they have taught me valuable lessons and as a result my mindset has strengthened.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I may be physically more now, but Im most proud of the mental gains which has carried in all other areas of my life and grateful I get to help my clients shift their mindset too. ⁣⁣

👉🏻Be kind to one self even when there are missteps or slip ups along the way, which happens it's just life. ⁣
👉🏻Take these as learning lessons to improve even if it's 1% and getting right back into it. ⁣

I spent a little time reflecting on my journey the last 8 years. ⁣👇🏻
⁣
⬅️ I remembered in high school, I hated how my thighs touched. ⁣
⁣
And made every attempt to slim the legs. ⁣
⁣
My sessions at the gym consisted majority HIIT and cardio, restricted myself of carbs and ate low calories just to achieve that ’thigh gap’ that was popularised back in the days. ⁣
⁣
😞 I’d admit, I was obsessed with skinny legs and wanted my abs to pop out more than anything! ⁣
⁣
Upon reflection, Id realised how toxic this was as I was heavily influenced by social trends.
But Im proud of the girl on the left for realising that you cant shrink yourself or be less to be happy.⁣
⁣
These days, I couldn't care less about my thighs touching. I train for strength both physically and mentally.
😌I have so much appreciation for my physique as it reflects the hard work I've put into building it over the years.⁣
⁣
💪🏻Lifting weights taught me how to find strength from within, how to cultivate more self love, self acceptance and this has carried in all other areas of my life. ⁣
⁣
🙏🏻If theres one thing to take away from this post, your mindset is everything and is a big part of my coaching for my girls. ⁣
⁣

I've been training for 7+ years and I still focus on the 1%, I'm still learning and seeking ways to improve. ⁣

🦋 No matter where you're at in your journey - just started or trained for years. Keep showing up and focus on doing the work even if its 1%!⁣⁣⁣⁣
