Ella has been such a great support for both my health both physically and mentally as I am still recovering from a recent back surgery. When I first started with her, I had some vague knowledge about nutrition and the specific types of exercises suitable for me but Ella took the time to explain each of the concepts. I was a bit skeptical to try working with a personal trainer. I had been able to achieve a certain level of fitness on my own, running, using a HIIT app or going to a class but I had to stop running after injuring myself and I often felt pain after going to an intense class.

After I joined the gym I found myself doing the same exercises I would do before I had a gym membership. I was frustrated, I joined a gym to do more strength training but I felt like I needed someone to show me how to use the machines and free weights. I didn’t feel like I belonged in that part of the gym. The first trial session I had with a different personal trainer was ok but I didn’t feel like she was doing anything groundbreaking. I still wasn’t convinced.

And then I met Ella. From the first “get to know you” session I had with Ella, I felt like she understood me. My goal was to be able to go in the gym, know some strength training exercises and be able to do them without injuring myself.

I started feeling stronger only after a few sessions. I noticed my body shape changing. All of this with just 2 sessions a week. I love how efficient the work outs are with Ella. She has a plan that she will adjust as we go. She challenged me to do more and showed me what my body is capable of.

I can definitely say I have achieved my initial goal of learning strength training exercises. I am able to go to the gym on my own to do squats, hip thrusts, and much more. Aches and pains I used to have as a result of poor form or lack of strength are gone. Ella has opened new possibilities for me in terms of strength training. I know I have more to learn and like in all areas of life, growth is a process.

I would highly recommend Ella as a personal trainer. She has incredible amount of knowledge of exercises and the muscles that should be engaging and how to get someone to engage those muscles. She is passionate about what she does and you can tell!
